Text Logo/Logotype/Word-Mark
A logo made up of the text of the company's name with unique font treatment. You may have graphic elements such as lines, boxes, borders—that interact with, surround, or even form the letters. Good for a company that offer many types of products, services, that may be hard to define or "wrap up" in a single picture or symbol.(e.g Yahoo, Google, FedEx, Microsoft, Dell). Consider a Text Logo/Logotype/Word-Mark when: • You have a multi-word business name. • Business name is enough to make the logo memorable.

Iconic/Symbolic/Brand-Mark

This type of logo includes neither words nor letters—only symbols, images and shapes. Imagery that conveys a literal or abstract representation of your organization or in other word an abstract symbol to reflect your product, service or business. An easy but strong graphic element, often abstract. Need high budget and resources to educate audience on your new logo. (e.g Apple, Shell and Nike). Consider a Brand-mark/Symbol/Iconic when: • You need an emblem on a product. • Name is too long • Name is too common • Name doesn't interpret well globally.

Combination Marks

Most popular design style! A logo that in some manner combines both a symbol and the company name. The symbol and text can be integrated together, side by side, or with one located above the other. Concise text can complement an icon or symbol, providing supplemental clarity as to what your business is all about. (e.g McDonald with golden M symbol, Domino Pizza in a square, AT&T with hightech globe, Starbucks Coffee in a green circle). Consider a Brand-mark/Symbol/Iconic when: • The best choice for a small- or medium-sized company or a company just starting out. •Easy to copyright and protect than a symbol-only logo, because the logo symbol will always be used in conjunction with the business name.
